The security update has first started rolling out in South Korea, but we fully expect it will expand to more regions soon. It includes the usual security patches and minor stability improvements. However, it also upgrades the bootloader version on all Galaxy S25 models — including the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25 Plus and Galaxy S25 Ultra — to version 4.

Samsung will launch One UI 8.0 as its eighth major software update, which — as is the case with software updates nowadays — will focus on incremental improvements rather than fundamental changes.
Through this update, Samsung will transfer its latest flagship features to different devices. The Galaxy Z Flip 6 and Z Fold 6 phones will obtain log video recording capability through this update, which is currently only available in the Galaxy S25 series.
One UI 8 introduces the following features in addition to AI and camera improvements:
- Quick Share file sharing becomes more accessible through its updated functionality.
- The Samsung Internet browser receives a new interface design.
- High-resolution display support has been improved in Samsung DeX.
- The new calendar system features smarter tools for managing reminders and scheduling events.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Flip 7 will be the first to receive the update, before it reaches the Galaxy S25 series and later on the mid-range and budget Galaxy phones.
The bootloader switch has been activated, and internal testing is complete, so Galaxy S25 users will see One UI 8 signs arrive soon.
